Purpose/Function:

This is a volunteer organization that is involved in promoting public awareness and an interest in county history, the arts, and in the cultural values, goals and traditions of the community, state and nation. The organization may also establish a museum of cultural programs, exhibits and displays. It may engage in architectural and historical research. The organization may seek to raise and holds funds or property through donations from private and corporate organizations, and furtherance of Warren County cultural & heritage activities. (“File for Corporation” with the State of New Jersey)

In recent years, the Friends of Shippen have organized the holiday decorations in December, performed as docents at the Manor, and collected donations from visitors for things that may be needed as well as collections items, artifacts, and other documents and photographs for Shippen Manor.
