Interior tours of Shippen Manor are scheduled for the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May until December (unless a federal holiday or otherwise announced).
As of 9/30/2024, the driveway and back parking lot at Shippen Manor will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians. Off-site parking, with exception to the small Belvidere Avenue lot at our upper drive, is suggested. There is limited handicap parking closest to the boardwalk (Belvidere Ave. lot).
10/11: Museum is temporarily closed. Updates will be provided regarding future programming.
11/3 & 11/10: Museum open with strict parking & pedestrian restrictions (see events below). We ask that all visitors refrain from crossing barricades and/or cones to access the closed area.
11/1: Victorian tour free reservations open today (12/1 and 12/8 at 11, 12, or 1pm). If we have inclement weather or the driveway work continues and I need to close the museum, all visitors who have made reservations will be contacted.
11/6: Open for Sun., 11/10 (Museum Tours, Veterans Recognition). Parking restrictions (driveways closed to the public, limited parking in small Belvidere Ave. lot, back parking closed).
11/15: Sun., Dec 1 and Dec 8-- 1pm reservation slot is filled. There is still space for 11am and 12pm. This is contingent on the weather and the driveway work.
Programming is rain or shine unless otherwise noted.
If outside programming is cancelled or modified, the museum's main floor will still be open for tours unless otherwise noted.
For outdoor programming (only):
If an outdoor event is cancelled due to severe weather, particularly lightning, or severe storms, extreme heat, etc., this is where we will post that information:
- If cancelled during office hours (weekdays), Warren200.com (calendar, programming schedule) will be updated along with our Facebook (@ShippenManor) and WarrenParks.com.
- If cancelled on the Saturday evening or early Sunday morning of the scheduled event, it will only be posted on Facebook (@ShippenManor), which will then upload to Shippen Manor News (warrenparks.com) for those who do not have that social media account.
Please read important information below this schedule regarding parking, entrances, ADA accessibility, etc.
We are a family-friendly site. Admission is always free. The Friends of Shippen do accept donations. All monies are used for the museum.

If individuals prefer speech or hearing assistance, please email Gina Rosseland to request assistance at least two weeks prior to scheduled programming. If the individual would like to call Gina (908-453-4381, x 223), please use the relay service at 711.
- 711 Relay Service is a TTY-based Telecommunications Relay Service that permits a person with hearing or speech disabilities to use the telephone system via a text telephone (TTY) or other device that is used to call persons with or without such disabilities.
- 711 Relay Service does not work for Video Relay Service (VRS), Internet Protocol Relay (IP Relay), or IP Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) calls because such calls are initiated through the Internet, nor does it work for Captioned Telephone Service (CTS).
More information regarding 711 Relay Services.
If additional ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accommodations are required, all requests must be submitted in writing up to two (2) weeks prior to the programming event and we will do our best to accommodate. Please send all ADA accommodation requests to Gina Rosseland or send a letter to our offices at Shippen Manor (8 Belvidere Ave., Oxford, NJ 07863).
EXTERIOR BORDER & DRIVEWAY WALLS: Our walls are delicate and fragile due to age and in order to avoid any potential injuries to you or damage to the site, we ask that visitors (children in particular) not climb, walk, sit, or jump off of any of our walls. (This also includes the old stone stairs on our neighbors' property near the Belvidere Ave. parking area and the ruins in the woods.)
REFUSE: We are a "pack in/pack out" site, for both museum days and concerts. We do not have any garbage receptacles on site. Please do not leave any garbage or discarded items behind. Thank you for helping keep our site clean.
SITE HOURS: The site is a part of the Warren County Parks and therefore the site itself is open daily for visitors to walk around (open at dawn; closed at dusk). The museum itself is only open the hours listed in our programming schedule, on the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May to December, except on holidays.
SERVICE ANIMALS: The only animals permitted inside County buildings are licensed service animals, which, as defined by the ADA are, "dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities." All other pets will have to remain outside and leashed with a responsible adult attending to them. Please clean up after all pets.
Visit us at Facebook (Shippen Manor).
Thank you for your patronage.
